Bringing Irving Priorities to Austin

Loretta began her campaign with a series of town hall meetings — so that she could listen to the concerns of all the people of Irving, not just a select few. As state representative, Loretta will make the voices of Irving residents heard in our Capitol.

Economic Opportunity

Loretta made her professional mark by helping small mom and pop businesses as well as multi-million dollar enterprises grow — creating jobs in a difficult economic environment. In Austin, Loretta will work to attract new businesses and investment to North Texas to ensure that our community continues to be a place where hardworking Texans can find a good job.

Education

In today’s economy, a good education is the key to economic success. The needs of Texas students, educators and schools must be a top priority for decision makers in Austin, to ensure that every Texas child has the opportunity to achieve his or her full potential.

Every year the price of a college education grows further out of reach of hardworking Irving families. Today, tuition costs in North Texas have more than doubled.  As our next state representative, Loretta will make sure that the door to a college education is open to every child who is willing to put in the work.

Utility Rates

Year after year, Texas families have seen their utility rates grow, putting pressure on Irving families and making it harder to attract new businesses to our state. Since the Legislature deregulated the utility industry, Texans have gone from paying some of the lowest rates in the nation to some of the highest. Loretta will work to reform the utility system in Texas, to ensure working families are able to make ends meet and to help businesses continue to produce the jobs Irving needs.
