Last evening, I was proud to receive the endorsement of the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas County. This group of dedicated, hardworking citizens has a track record of working for positive change for all people throughout Dallas County. Their endorsement process and commitment to supporting candidates is a model for Democratic organizations across North Texas, and I am honored to have them be a part of this campaign.

 

In today's Dallas Morning News, the newspaper recommends me to Irving Democrats looking for the best path to victory in 2010. I am grateful for the support of the News, and look forward to discussing the issues raised in their editorial with voters across Irving. 

 

These endorsements are both an encouragement, and a challenge. As we continue in this campaign, I will redouble my efforts to provide Irving families with true representation in Austin. I hope that you will join me. Together, we can address our out-of-control utility bills and homeowners insurance rates, and provide a quality education to all our children. Together, we can bring down the costs of college tuition, and improve the quality of the air we breathe. Together, we can transform these two important endorsements from landmarks on a campaign trail into stepping stones towards real change for the people of Irving.
